Oh what we’ve endured – the night of Tisha B’Av
Ancient pain met broken hearts among the galleries of ANU – Museum of the Jewish People.
The reading of the Book of Lamentations was heard among the exhibits in the museum, and the speakers at the evening spoke about the relevance of Tisha B’Av to today’s harsh reality
Together with the song of lamentations and songs of pain and hope, we talked about Tisha B’Av, about destruction, in a painful and poignant discourse, and we sought to find meaning and comfort, and maybe even found hope.
The evening was held at ANU – Museum of the Jewish People, together with an Israeli house of prayer, Alma and the Koret Center for Jewish Civilization.

- Dr. Ruth Calderon, educator and Talmud researcher, founder of Alma – a home for Hebrew culture
- Dr. Jeremy Fogel, senior lecturer in Jewish philosophy at Tel Aviv University and academic director at Alma
- Rabbi Dr. Rani Yager, rabbi of the Israeli House of Prayer congregation in Tel Aviv, and research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute
- Rotem Cohen Kahlon, deputy director of the ISEF Foundation and a member of the Ramla City Council.
